Our Family

Angela's family is split across many states - Alabama, South Carolina, Kentucky, Utah, Idaho, and California. Her family has "The Brady Bunch" beat multiple times, with multiple variations of blended families occurring on both her mom and dad's sides.  Because we live on the east coast, we often meet up with her sisters and brother that she grew up with.  Thanks to Marco Polo, she's able to stay in close contact with her west coast family and tries to make a trip out once a year to see them.

Angela's family is loud and busy. Get-togethers always have an itinerary planned with parks, museums, water activities in the summer, Christmas lights tours in the winter, card games at night, and lots and lots of singing and musical concerts.

Robert's family is much smaller and more centrally located.  In fact, his whole immediate family still lives in his hometown and half his cousins still live there as well.  Growing up Robert and his brother played every sport available until settling on soccer in the their teens.  Both were involved in band - it was basically a requirement because their dad was the high school band director - and between all the sports and music practice and games they put a ton of miles on the family vehicles.  One constant was that we knew our parents would always be there at every game and performance.

Summers were spent playing outside playing with cousins, swimming in the pool, and we always had a week-long family vacation - usually to the beach but sometimes we would add in a second one someplace we had never been.  They still continue that tradition and have an annual beach vacation penciled in every year around July 4th.

Campfire at Night with Uncle Robert

At home we're parents to our rescue dog, Jack.  He's a Jackabee - a Jack Russell/Beagle mix.  We adopted him in our first year of marriage and he hasn't changed at all.  We named him Jack because  when we adopted him it looks like he has eye-liner and is a littler quirky - basically like Captain Jack Sparrow.  He is fierce in defending our home from the dogs and cats that always pop up on the tv, and loves to watch tv with us at nights.  He's gentle with kids and lets them do pretty much whatever they want with him. Jack knows when we're not feeling well and gives the best snuggles when we need them.
