When I was in high school, we were asked to write down the traits we would love in a future spouse. I wrote down qualities that I admired in my own father and then of course ones that I thought were valuable to me. Three years later, I met Robert. I knew the moment I met him that he was my dream guy and that he was the one I wanted to marry. He checked off literally every box and to this day I can’t believe he gave me a chance and chose me to be his life long companion. He is everything perfect for me and more.
Robert is: Thoughtful
Beyond his ability to be the smartest and most clever person I know, he is caring, empathetic, honorable, and extremely thoughtful. He never ceases to amaze me. One year for my birthday, he stayed up all night prepping and then woke up at 5 am the next morning to surprise me with my favorite meal from Thailand before he had to leave for work. This is not the only time he has done something like this for me! He is the most generous and selfless person I know who will do anything to make any day special.
Robert is: A musician
The fact that Robert can sing, play the piano, and really, any instrument handed to him, has always impressed me. Some of our favorite past-times include going to concerts, Broadway musicals, and watching cheesy musical dramas on our favorite streaming apps. It always cracks me up when he starts singing along enthusiastically: his facial expressions when a favorite song comes on are the best!

Robert is: A quiet, reserved GOOFBALL
Growing up, he had one brother. Marrying me, he has learned first hand what it’s like to have multiple siblings and has made sure to learn all my family’s traditions. There are a LOT! Even though he grew up in a quiet, stable home, he has learned to embrace a loud and lively crowd that is my family. He is so incredibly patient and loves to spend time with our nieces and nephews: he’s definitely their favorite (they’ve told me multiple times). He may come across as quiet and reserved when you first meet him, but don’t let that fool you - he is very funny and goofy, which he has proven time and time again.

Robert is: Competitive yet humble
Robert is very competitive. Whether it’s in his field of practice as a dentist, on an obstacle course, in the gym, or playing Monopoly! However, he never boasts about his achievements, but instead encourages others to always work hard and teaches those who want to become better. He is my greatest cheerleader and on days that I wish I could be more like him, he smiles and says “Well, then do it!” and he inspires me to continue to learn and grow.

Robert is: Compassionate
I think the best part about Robert is his compassion and willingness to serve others. He knows that nobody is perfect and is always prepared to help out in any way he can. If a friend or family member is in need, he looks to me and says, “We should help,” and does it with a smile and never thinks twice about it. He has the ability to make any situation better, whether it’s making sure someone has food to eat, a room to sleep in when they have none, or a listening ear when someone just needs to cry and vent.

I could go on and on about the man that Robert is, but that would take a book: a LONG book, maybe even a series!
He has embraced the married life, and is ready for the dad life! He will be the dad that paints his little girl’s fingernails, teaches his son how to be a loving father, encourages his children to accomplish anything their hearts desire, and who will kiss all the boo-boos and tell them they’re going to be okay. He will love any child unconditionally and knows that the road might be bumpy at times, but he knows that with love and logic, we as parents can get through anything together. I wouldn’t want any other man to be my forever companion, and I can’t wait to see him embrace fatherhood and show the love to a child that he has continuously shown me.
